Last Drop Village Wedding | Lisa & Tara’s Relaxed Hybrid Day

Rustic Last Drop Village Wedding Photography | Lisa & Tara

“When Lisa and Tara told me they wanted ‘zero stress and no awkward posing,’ I knew we were going to get along perfectly…”

When you drive up the winding road to the Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa, you feel like you’ve left the world behind. With its cobbled streets, stone buildings, and incredible views of the West Pennine Moors, it doesn’t feel like a hotel—it feels like its own little village.

For Lisa and Tara, this was the perfect setting. They didn’t want a stiff, formal wedding; they wanted a day that was all about laughter, love, and zero stress. As a Last Drop Village wedding photographer, I see a lot of weddings here, but this one was special. The vibe from the moment I arrived was pure joy.

Lisa and Tara left me a glowing review afterwards, mentioning how relaxed the whole experience was—and that is exactly what we aim for.

The Morning: Calm in the Village

Both brides got ready at the venue, which made the morning incredibly chilled. The rooms at the Last Drop have a lovely rustic feel, and the natural light is great for those candid preparation shots.

We kept things completely documentary-style. I wasn’t there to move dress bags or tell people where to stand; I was there to capture the nerves, the champagne toasts, and the excitement building up. It was all about the real moments—the laughter with the bridesmaids and those quiet seconds of reflection before the ceremony.

The Ceremony: Emotion & The Hybrid Approach

The ceremony itself was beautiful. The rustic beams and stone walls of the venue created such an intimate atmosphere.

This is where my Hybrid Photography & Video approach really shines. Instead of having a separate videographer running around with a tripod, I captured the key moments—the vows, the ring exchange, the tearful glances—on both photo and video simultaneously.

I was able to get those crucial shots without blocking the guests’ view or turning the aisle into a film set. Lisa and Tara could just focus on each other, knowing everything was being captured.

Portraits: Cobbled Streets & Moors Views

After the ceremony, we stole away for just 15 minutes to make the most of the venue’s character. You can’t get married at the Last Drop without getting a photo on the famous cobbled street!

Lisa and Tara were absolute naturals. We didn’t do hours of stiff posing or “look here and smile.” We just took a walk through the village and let them enjoy a moment of quiet as newlyweds. We even managed to use the backdrop of the rolling Lancashire hills to add a bit of drama to the gallery.

The result? Genuine, relaxed portraits that look like them, not a magazine cutout.

The Party

The evening reception was where the fun really kicked in. The room looked fantastic, and once the first dance was done, the dancefloor didn’t empty.

Capturing the party is one of my favourite parts of the day. It’s when the ties come off (figuratively speaking!) and the real candid moments happen. From the emotional speeches to the guests throwing shapes on the dancefloor, the energy was infectious.
